I've been slimed!
On Saturday, we stopped off at the mailbox to get our mail after Audrey's soccer game. Tim got out to unlock the box and grab the mail. Suddenly he dropped the mail on the ground. We laughed and teased him about dropping the mail and getting it all dirty and wet. He then proceeds to give me the mail to hold on my lap as we drive home. I look through it, hoping for something good, but I only see junk mail and bills. Oh well. And then it goes like this...
Tim: "Anything good"
Jo: "Nah, just junk and bills"
Tim: "Are you sure, what about that letter"
Jo: "Which one?"
Tim: "That one right there, the one you have in front"
Jo: "What do you mean, it's just a bill"
Tim: "Look closer"
Jo: "What are you talking about?"
Jo: "AHHHHHHHHHHHH"
A lovely little (disgusting) slug had found it's way into our mail box and slimed the mail and Tim when he took the mail out. But, knowing Tim, he coudn't just keep it to himself...he kept the yellow slimeball on the end of mail...just hidden enough so I didn't see it. Quickly the slug went flying out the window, and Tim is still suffering from a sore arm (after I punched it a few times!)

The Wednesday Letters
I just finished a wonderful book called The Wednesday letters by Jason Wright. He is the author of The Christmas Jars, though I've never read it. I would recommend it to anyone. It is a "quick read, pick it up when you have a second here or there" type of book, which is perfect for my life. I picked the book up on whim while at Deseret Book. It has a great message on forgiveness and the lost art of letter writing, a love story with many surprizes. The writing is beautiful and descriptive. http://www.thewednesdayletters.com/

Go Cougs!
Wow, what a game today! Tim and I put on our BYU attire and fought the sea of purple at today's BYU-UW football game. It was on the edge of your seat entertainment! But, the Cougs pulled it off minus some bad ref calls and many injuries. The game came down to a controversial flag by the now despised Pac-10 zebra. The BYU faithful would say it was a long overdue penalty. The questionable call made up for the other 20 "non" calls. Final score: BYU 28, the hurtin' puppies 27! What a game!

Tumalo Hike
Grandad and I took a side trip, up the mountain to see what we could see. (I love that my dad is in his mid 70's and still loves a hiking challenge!)
Trees in the NW are a lot bigger than in Pennsylvania!
I love Grammy and Grandad!!! Natty still doesn't talk much, unless you can translate her language. But, she did learn "Grandad"...she's got her priorities!

birthday bellies
I love my family! They made my birthday so special. I got to spend a day shopping by myself, had a wonderful steak dinner with Tim, and then came home to a great birthday surprize from the kids. Becky had fun with bellies and markers! Can't say I like being another year older...quickly approaching the big 40...but to have such sweethearts to spend it with makes it great! I forgot to mention, the day before my birthday we went out to a local burger joint called Triple X and they had me dress up in giant funny glasses and a silly hat. The whole restaurant sang to me. Natty was talking about my glasses and hat for days. Too bad we don't have a picture (on purpose). Becky took one with her phone, but I haven't seen it yet.
